Helpline NGO is committed to Disaster Management as one of its top priorities, given its nationwide presence and integrated network of volunteers across Pakistan. In the event of any sudden disaster anywhere in the country, the volunteers of Helpline NGO are always ready to provide immediate assistance and take part in relief activities. In addition, Helpline NGO has established specialized Disaster Management Cells throughout the country to ensure prompt rescue and relief services to deal with any unfortunate situation. These cells have been designated as an independent departments at both the central and provincial levels, reflecting the importance that Helpline NGO places on Disaster Management.
During the floods that occurred in 2022, Helpline NGO mobilized thousands of volunteers who played a crucial role in providing relief and rescue services to affected communities across the country. Rescue vehicles and ambulances were deployed to the flood-affected areas, where Helpline Disaster teams and volunteers worked tirelessly to provide shelter in Helpline Tent Villages and distribute dry rations by boats. To address the urgent need for clean drinking water, Helpline deployed Mobile Water Filtration Plants, while Mobile Health Units provided medical assistance to those in need. In addition, six field hospitals were established in the affected areas, where free medical check-ups and daycare services were provided along with free medicines. To promote hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases, Helpline distributed hygiene kits containing essential items such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, cups, first aid medicines, and water purification tablets. These efforts demonstrate the commitment of Helpline NGO to Disaster Management and its dedication to serving communities in times of crisis.
